Pump and Tank Services – Martin County, Florida

In Line, Inc. Service areas: Stuart, Jensen Beach, Sewall’s Point, Port Salerno, Hobe Sound, Palm City

Is your water pump cycling on and off rapidly? Do you have low water pressure in your home or sprinkler system? Is the water pressure inconsistent? Are you completely out of water in your home or sprinkler system?

City water is becoming increasingly available in our area, but many homes still rely on well water. Water pumps, water tanks, and their associated components are essential if your home or sprinkler system is connected to a water well. Day after day, we turn on the faucet or outdoor spigot without a second thought and go about our lives as usual. However, life becomes immediately and profoundly inconvenient when the water pressure drops—or worse, when the water stops flowing altogether.

WATER PUMPS

When diagnosing a pump problem, there are a few things we typically look for.

Water pump:

  • Humming but not producing water
  • Running but not producing water
  • Silent and cold
  • Noisy
  • Rusty
  • Overheating

Other issues

  • Leaks around the water pump
  • Tripped circuit breaker
  • Pipes are leaking or disconnected from the pump
  • Pressure switch (the small box that transfers power to the pump)

CAUTION: DO NOT TOUCH THE WATER PUMP. IT CAN BE HOT ENOUGH TO CAUSE SEVERE BURNS!

Pitcher Pump

If you have a well and live in a hurricane-prone area like Martin County, we recommend adding a pitcher pump (also known as a manual hand pump or old-style country pump) to the top of your well pipe. Not only does it enhance the appearance of your well and make it more visible to lawn maintenance personnel and landscapers, but it is also fully functional, ensuring access to water during power outages, city water shutoffs, or boil water advisories.

Our service technicians are equipped with the experience, tools, and materials necessary to diagnose and repair your water issues efficiently. Whether your pump is blue, green, purple, a pump start system, or an on-demand system, we can service it.

We work with most major brands, including GOULDS, STA-RITE, F&W, FLOTEC, AERMOTOR, BERKELEY, CENTURY, A.O. SMITH, FRANKLIN, and MAGNATEK.

Additionally, we sell GOULDS and STA-RITE water pumps.

How to increase the life of your pump

WATER TANK ISSUES

Water tanks are known by many names, including pressure tank, water storage tank, bladder tank, diaphragm tank, pillow tank, and booster tank. Regardless of what you call it, a malfunctioning tank can cause significant issues in a water system.

A water tank is designed to hold water, equalize pressure, keep water and air separated (as their mixing can lead to bacteria growth), and prevent the pump from cycling excessively (turning on and off repeatedly). What you might not realize is that most pump failures are caused by cycling.

Common tank problems include improper air pressure, a broken bladder, an incorrectly sized tank, and surface rust.

PROPERLY SIZED WATER TANKS

If your pump is only running your sprinkler system or hose bibs, a smaller tank is recommended. In some cases, we can remove the tank and install a demand system instead. Proper sizing of your irrigation water tank is crucial for optimal performance and longevity. If your system is set up to run both irrigation and household water, or if you have a large family, a larger tank is recommended.

SURFACE RUST

Surface rust is a leading cause of tank failures, along with debris around the base, weather exposure, and paint deterioration. We typically install tanks with epoxy paint to minimize these issues.

INSPECT YOUR WATER TANK ANNUALLY

Much like a bicycle tire, a tank loses air over time and needs to be checked annually. A broken bladder often results from prolonged low air pressure or a poorly manufactured tank. InLine offers a variety of inspection, service, and maintenance plans, providing preferred customers with dedicated service and discounted rates.

We service every type of bladder tank: FLEXCON, PROSOURCE, WELL X TROL, STARITE, WELLMATE, WATER WORKER, CHALLENGER, CONAIRE, FLEXLITE — and many others.
